We can draw and write with chalk on a blackboard

After exploring different options (whiteboard, drawing on the windows) we found that using a blackboard and chalks was the best solution. And we thought about taking a picture if we want to keep a memory or to show it to our parents

Solution description

Our solution is to paint some walls with blackboard paint and draw on them with chalk.

We can take pictures of our drawing and writings with a digital camera or a tablet and our teacher can send it to our parents or upload it in our digital portfolio.

Next week we will keep all the paper in the paper bon to measure the difference with the weekly amount of paper we kept at the beginning of the challenge.

Solution context

In our class we use a lot of paper to draw, write, make crafts. It has an impact on the planet as we came to realise.

Our challenge was to protect the planet by using less paper.

Solution target group

Our target group is Nursery and Primary classes. They can use our solution to reduce their use of paper in class and help protect the planet.

Solution impact

We measure the impact in our class by observing the weekly quantity of paper in the paper bin.

If other classes in the world make the same observation, maybe they can share it with us.

Solution tweet text

Blackoard and digital pictures to reduce the use of paper in class.

Solution innovativeness

It's not very innovative but the impact is on the children eco-consciousness. They realised the problem, they found the solution and they feel now very responsible.

Solution transferability

Evey part of it is transferable, even the journal of our challenge.

Solution sustainability

We will continue to monitor the use of paper to be sure we keep improving.

In the long term, we might look for other solutions to complement this one.

Solution team work

We are a class. We are used to working in teams and share the results with the others in the group.
