Solution description

The final service is a social network for students from all over the world. It will provide a sharing information and knowledge platform for students with each other by letting them post, ask questions and comment on a subject or topic they would like to participate in. In addition, the service will help them to share and find course’s materials, no matter where they chose to learn or what degree they are learning. The success of the solution can be measured as follows: The platform will be considered successful whether it seems to be a large number of students who sign up for the service and stay active. We also pay attention to the traffic of threads and topics that will be opened by students looking for help or are sharing their knowledge to the world. If that traffic is high, we consider the platform to be successful.

Solution context

The problems we are facing while creating the product are mainly related to copyright. When wanting to share on the platform study materials that belong to a particular lecturer, it is necessary to obtain his approval first before uploading because of copyright. The matter may create an obstacle in the success of the platform because a massive lack of materials may lead to the failure of the product.

The challenge we are solving is the lack of communication and availability between students all over the world. This problem is especially noticeable when students are not studying at the same educational institution.

Solution target group

: The target group we are aiming is students all over the world

Solution impact

The solution will connect students from all over the world and from other institutions. We can measure the impact by supplying the sending to the registered students questionnaires and surveys regarding the use of the service and their collaborating with other students.

Solution tweet text

I’m starting this semester this week. Should i register to that’s facebook nerds social media and success, or ignore the service and fail?”

Solution innovativeness

There are services in the market that provide collaboration between people (and so students), and platforms that provide study materials, but our solution is different and original because in the market there is no major platform that provides these two services for free. We don’t believe that there is a product similar to what we are providing.

Solution transferability

The solution can be used in other contexts like other known social networks available today like facebook, twitter, etc. The main parts that can be applied  to other contexts are social media features like writing a post, asking questions and commenting on a subject or topic they would like to participate in.

Solution sustainability

Our plan for the mid and long terms are to add new features frequently depending the registered students' requests. In addition,in the long terms, we may expand the platform so that it will also support collaboration not only for educational needs

Solution team work

We have worked closely together and will continue working together collaboratively.
